[He's not being sarcastic. Maybe it'll help both of them.]

Do you want me to stay for a bit?

[In case the egg wants both of them for a while.]

If you don't mind? It beats me running after you if the egg gets mad.

[It's sitting quietly in his arms right now, but who knows how long that'll last.]

[There's not really anything else he needs to do immediately and while he might still be a little awkward about what to do in situations like this, he wouldn't have brought it up if he hadn't been willing to stay.]

Ok. Want to watch a movie or something?

[He waves one hand at the pile of DVDs on the coffee table, then puts the egg on the couch, making sure it's comfortable.]

This one about rainforests is pretty cool.
